istandagainstweightbullying: I’ve been slamming Strong4Life nearly daily on their facebook page, responding to everything they post and comments both from S4L themselves and the people who agree with them. I’ve told them over and over again that we, the fat adults who were once fat children, LIVED through the bullying, the shame. Those fat children those ads are aimed at will become adults. They will carry the scars of the torture they faced because putting a fat kid on a billboard and saying his body is wrong is flat out giving permission to make fun of him. Encouraging healthy eating? Turning off the TV and getting physical activity when possible? AWESOME! Those are great initiatives. Finding ways to cut costs of healthful foods and making them available to ALL families, regardless of income? GREAT!  Putting a fat kid on a billboard and pointing the finger at them? Never going to be okay. Nothing positive will ever come from shame. I’m proud to take a stand against this campaign. ~Amber
